LIN RESEARCH TEAM MEMBERS
Angela Zhu is a Sr. Clinical Research Coordinator in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Utah. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah in 2019 and has been working with the Lin team ever since. Angela has experience managing and coordinating numerous pediatric studies to ensure project success and timely completion of study milestones. She received her ACRP-CP® certification in 2024. Angela is interested in clinical research that focuses on improving the health outcomes of hospitalized children.
Anahi Guillen is a Research Assistant in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah. She recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in operations & supply chain and a minor in strategic communications, and she just celebrated her one-year work anniversary with the research team. Anahi is passionate about using data insights to drive meaningful improvements in healthcare. She combines her analytical skills with a strong commitment to effective communication. Outside of research, Anahi is deeply involved in community service, dedicating her time to local initiatives that reflect her dedication to making a positive impact. Her work is guided by a genuine care for people and a desire to contribute to both science and society.
Tiffany Palacios is completing her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering and Arabic at the University of Utah. Since joining the Lin team in 2023 as a Spanish-speaking Student Research Assistant, she has aided in consenting 450+ study participants and is currently conducting qualitative analysis using thematic synthesis for the NMS Study. Tiffany is interested in aiming her studies towards cardiac bioelectricity, and improving biomedical device access across diverse communities through education and language.
Sarah is pursuing a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Utah. Since October 2022, she has been an undergraduate research assistant with the team since 2022, where she focuses on participant recruitment. Outside of her academic and research commitments, Sarah enjoys cooking and exploring new boba places.
Joaquin Vega completed his undergraduate work at California Baptist University in Riverside, California. He works collaboratively with the Lin Research Team on multiple studies. Joaquin is interested in improving the quality of care for children with medical complexities and working with communities where healthcare resources are not readily available. He enjoys working with the diverse communities CHLA serves and hopes to assist these families by participating in the research projects in the Lin lab.
Amberly completed both her undergraduate and master’s degree at the University of California, Irvine. She joined the Lin Lab in 2023 and works as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and collaborates with the Lin Research Team on multiple studies. She assists in data collection, consenting and other related research project tasks. Amberly is interested in identifying ways to improve quality of care for children of medical complexities and how to better serve underserved communities.
