Dr. Jody Lin is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah and a health services researcher dedicated to advancing the lives of children with medical complexity and their families. Her work focuses on developing, implementing, and testing interventions that promote shared decision making. She leverages human-centered design and health communication principles to co-produce tools with families and providers of children with medical complexity. This dynamic approach ensures the work of her team meets the needs of the community they serve.
Designing novel decision support:
Combining the fields of medical decision making, health communication, and implementation science, the lab develops practical tools with families and providers to support shared decision making in populations with medical complexity.
Advancing the clinical evidence base:
Using traditional health services research methodologies, the lab aims to answer meaningful clinical questions about the effectiveness of various clinical interventions commonly provided to children with medical complexity.
Transforming clinical practice through decision support:
The lab takes novel tools coproduced with the community into the field for real world implementation and evaluation.
